La Maison de Jean Cocteau à Milly La Forêt

Depuis 2010, la maison de Jean Cocteau à Milly-la-Forêt dans l'Essonne est devenu un

musée ouvert au public. L'occasion de se plonger dans l'univers de l'artiste qui vécut

dans cette maison de 1947, date à laquelle il l'acheta avec Jean Marais, à la fin de sa vie

en 1963. Milly-la-forêt n'étant qu’à 50 km au Sud de Paris, voilà une bien belle

escapade pour nos lecteurs Parisiens ou de passage.

Jusqu’au 30 octobre : mercredi-dimanche, 10h-19h

du 1er novembre au 15 janvier : mercredi-dimanche, 14h-18h

Fermé lundi et mardi et du 15 janvier au 28 février

☂ Travel Snaps, Part 4: A Rainy Day in Toulon

C'est moi, with one more installment of travel pictures from last November.

As you can see, it was a soggy day in Toulon, France!

Even so, it was a beautiful place with many meandering pedestrian streets.

When walking down an alley, my friend and I stumbled upon the striking mural, on the right. The left hand photo shows my "striking" outfit for the day, très chic.

The pink coverup was borrowed, once it became apparent that my jacket was somewhat water repellant rather than waterproof. My umbrella had already blown inside out several times before admitting defeat. Given I had only one day to explore, it was time to slap on a smile and get on with it!

Similarly, despite the weather, the morning market continued, adding some welcome colour -but not pink.
